There are three main types of door handles
Door handles are often the most overlooked part of any door. In fact, it's not unusual to see them left as simple knobs or levers. While they may be easy to overlook, they can make all the difference in the world when it comes to style and convenience! So today we're going to talk about the three main types of door handles: lever handles, pull handles, and door knobs.
Lever handles
Lever handles are the most common type of door handle, and for good reason. They're easy to use, and they work well for people with mobility issues. Lever handles are also available in both left- and right-handed versions, which is helpful if you have a disability or injury that makes it difficult to use your dominant hand.
They can be used on either external or internal doors that swing both ways (i.e., they don't just open inward). They're generally found in public places like schools and offices because they're accessible to everyone.
Pull handles
Pull handles are usually mounted on the inside of a door, and are used for cabinets, pantries and bathrooms. Pull handles are typically installed on doors that open inward. They can be locked with a deadbolt or padlock for added security.
Door knobs
Door knobs are the most common type of door handle. They can be used on interior and exterior doors, and come in a variety of styles, materials, and finishes. Door knobs can be attached to the door with screws or with a latch.
A door knob is made up of two components: a round base that attaches to the door frame and an ornamental part (the "knob") which turns to open or close the door. The base is usually made from metal or plastic, while the knob may be constructed from metal, ceramic or wood.
